Interview with critic Molly Haskell about Hawks and Red River

Dave kills his alcoholic father to end the cycle of violence in the house. But when his little brother Tom confesses to the murder and goes to jail, Dave turns to petty crime to pay the bills.

Takarazuka Cosmos Troupe 2018 production based oon the shoujo manga (girl's comic) series Sora wa Akai Kawa no Hotori by Shinohara Chie, released in the United States under the title Red River. Citrus Breeze - Sunrise - was the associated revue performance.

A fine cast of actors portrays the ensuing dispute.

Molly, the shy, romance-starved wife of an arrogant frontier sheriff, finds herself drawn to a prisoner in her husband's jail. This prisoner, a handsome young man named Johnny, plays on Molly's sympathy and convinces her to help him escape. Molly then accompanies Johnny on his cross-country flight but soon learns he's simply been using her. Molly makes the best of the situation, however, and by the time the sheriff's posse catches up with them, Molly shows that she's learned how to assert herself.

Molly is in love with Peter. Peter is living a dangerous, violent and depraved upper class life. Peters brother Robin is in love with Molly.
